There are 24 houses in Rainbow which consist of twenty, 2 bedroomed houses (one of which is the community house) and four, 4 bedroomed houses. Tenants pay Rainbow rent which goes towards the cost of management, maintenance and landscaping.
Rainbow is a fully mutual co-operative, which means that tenants must be members of the co-op, and only co-op members can be tenants. Legally, the Co-op has to maintain the houses, keep accounts to be audited each year, have an Annual General Meeting, keep minutes, and have a list of members.
Matters of a general nature are discussed and decided upon at general meetings, usually held on the first of each month. These include the following:-

Membership, tenancies, allocating houses.

Changing rents, tenancy conditions, Co-op rules.

General policies and external commitments.

Approving budgets and choosing how we spend our resources.

Mandating groups or individuals representing us.
