Decisions on more specific items are delegated to sub-groups, but the budgets within which these groups operate are discussed and approved by the general meeting, All members and prospective members are welcome and encoraged to attend any of the sub-groups.
Organises activities for the children, including, days out, parties, the maintenence and replacement of facilites in the play area.
Looks after the chickens and ducks, making sure they have enough to eat, distributing the eggs etc.
As it's name suggests, this group organises the general maintenance on the houses and land. It looks after the tools in the workshop and organises "workdays/weekends". These are days when all the members are encouraged to participate in carrying out work maintaining the houses, usually working in teams. There is usually a shared meal and creche facilities if needed. Skill sharing is also a feature of these days and you can learn a new skill or teach one to another member. There is a great variety of jobs to bed done including, painting, plumbing, pointing, carpentry, cementing and many others.
This group-is responsible for keeping the books and administers the budgets set aside by the general meeting. It also deals with any legal items and liases with outside bodies and the accountant. It helps the treasurer to produce the yearly accounts and prepare the budgets so the membership can decide how to allocate the management and maintenance allowances. It is also reponsible for discussing and chasing rent arrears and day to day co-op administration.
Organises our annual birthday party, normally around the first weekend in June and our Christmas party In addition other sub-groups are set up by the general meeting to address specific issues that arise from time to time. Each group has a convenor who organises the meetings.
This group is responsible for organising the work on the land and gardens, looks after the greenhouse, the polytunnel and the tools in the garden shed. Land workdays/weekends are organised to carry out work in a similar way to MOG workdays.
